Who we are
Family Rescue Initiative -Uganda (FRI-U) is a non-profit organization that is registered in Uganda under the NGO Registration Statute of 1989 as a non-profit company limited by guarantee and with no share capital, under the Companies Act (Cap.85) of Uganda.
Our History
It started activities in 2004 and was formally registered in 2007 by a group of women activists living with HIV & AIDS who felt that families and communities especially those that are greatly affected by AIDS pandemic need to be empowered to mitigate the effects of HIV & AIDS and TB and gender imbalance in their families, communities and institutions.
Our Mission
To empower families, communities and institutions to mitigate challenges brought about by HIV & AIDS, TB, Cervical Cancer, gender imbalance, Gender Based Violence, Child Abuse and Stigma and Discrimination.
Our Vision
Empowered families, communities, and institutions with competences in HIV & AIDS and TB prevention, care and management, effective gender sensitivity, Child Protection and Sexual Reproductive Health.
